Still making plans this summer? Don’t miss your chance to register your kids for the City of Vaughan’s one- and two-week summer camp sessions!
Explore brand new programs, or check out some of our returning favourites, with a wide variety of specialties in creative, culinary and performing arts, enrichment, leadership, recreation, sports, outdoor adventures and water adventures. Registration is open at vaughan.perfectmind.com.
Camps begin on Monday, June 30 with one- and two-week sessions running until the end of August. Camps are located at Vaughan community centres, heritage homes, parks, the City Playhouse Theatre and Vaughan Studios & Event Space for children ages four to 16 years old.
City camp staff are trained and certified in the HIGH FIVE® Principles of Healthy Child Development, and Standard First Aid and CPR, contributing to a safe and supportive atmosphere that promotes self-confidence, resilience, empathy and adaptability among young campers.
Here are a few program highlights:
Aquasquirts (for ages four to six years old)
Little swimmers enjoy various aquatic activities, such as water safety, relay races, sing songs and co-operative games. While having fun in the water jumping, rolling, spinning, twisting and turning upside down, children grow more comfortable and confident in the pool environment and develop basic swimming skills. Campers dry off with activities such as arts and crafts, games and outdoor sports.

Bust a Move (for ages five to seven years old)
Learn ballet, jazz and hip hop moves to perform in two dance routines on Friday during an end-of-day recital for family and friends. Each session encompasses a different theme with songs and recreational games and activities that vary by location. Previous dance experience is not required. Spots are available at the following locations:

Summer Adventure (for ages seven to 10 years old)
It’s a summer of action and adventure, featuring arts and crafts, sports, water games, talent and music shows, plus special events. This program is available at the following locations:
- Al Palladini Community Centre (9201 Islington Ave.)
- Chancellor Community Centre (350 Ansley Grove Rd.)
- Garnet A. Williams Community Centre (501 Clark Ave. W.)
- Maple Community Centre (10190 Keele St.)
- North Thornhill Community Centre - camps taking place at Stephen Lewis Secondary School (555 Autumn Hill Blvd.)

Aqua Adventures (for ages seven to 12 years old)
Learn proper stroke techniques and water safety during daily swim instruction, followed by fun water play including water polo, lifesaving sports, underwater activities and of course, recreational swimming. Campers dry off with activities such as arts and crafts, games and outdoor sports.

Tennis Tremendous (for ages seven to 12 years old)
Become a strong tennis player with an all-court game by learning proper stroke techniques, including forehand, backhand, serve, volley, lob and smash. This foundation course improves technical tennis ability, provides a full body workout and fosters an appreciation for fitness, sportsmanship and fun. *Additional locations added*

Trip Takers: Splash N’ Go (for ages 10 to 14 years old)
Water lovers embark on daily aquatic excursions to some of the coolest water locales, including trips to lakes and water parks. This program is available at the following location:

Woodbridge Pool and Memorial Arena (5020 Highway 7)

Teen Fit (for ages 13 to 15 years old)
Learn proper workout techniques, how to use cardio and weight training equipment and receive nutrition tips from Vaughan Fitness staff. Get motivated with other teens while you do warm-ups, drills and group exercises together. Finish off your fitness routine with a swim in the pool two to three times a week. Some exercises may take place outdoors, weather permitting. This program is available at the following locations:

Empowered Chef (for ages eight to 12 years old)
Step into the chef’s domain as a place of independence and creativity and discover the delicious joy of turning simple ingredients into something extraordinary – all while building skills that extend far beyond the cutting board. Each day brings a new ingredient and recipe, alongside practical lessons in kitchen hygiene, food sourcing, grocery planning, healthy meals, safe utensil techniques, and efficient organization. Mornings are spent learning by doing (mixing, measuring, simmering, sautéing and, of course, eating) and finding confidence in every new task, big or small. Afternoons are for other exciting activities – like swimming – to round out the day with fun and friendship. Find pride in what you create and create something that’s yours to savour! This program, geared to individual with disabilities, is available at the following locations:

Kool Summer Dayz (for ages 13 to 21 years old)
Spend the days cooking, creating arts and crafts, playing co-operative games, enjoying theme days and ‘kool’ special guests with new friends. Counsellors provide an intensive level of attention, support and encouragement to help participants improve social skills and stay active. This program, geared to individual with disabilities, is available at the following location:
