About the by-law
City of Vaughan parking regulations help to ensure the safety of streets and walkways, and support effective traffic flow. The Parking By-law (PDF) regulates a number of parking violations in the city.
Key By-law Provisions
- Unless otherwise posted or allowed by permit, parking is not allowed for more than three hours between 6 a.m. and 6 p.m. and prohibited on all streets between 2 a.m. and 6 a.m.
- Valid accessible parking permits allow people to park in disabled spaces, but do not provide exemptions from other parking violations such as fire routes.
- Permits must be valid on the date of parking and need to be displayed properly with the front of the permit clearly visible (face-up on the dashboard or attached to a turned-down sun visor).
- During snow events (minimum five centimetres of snowfall), vehicles should be parked on driveways to help plows and salt trucks effectively remove snow from roads. Failure to do so may result in a ticket and/or towing at the owner's expense..
Enforcement Parking is enforced 24 hours a day, seven days a week, all year long. Enforcement officers patrol the city issuing tickets for parking violations. Parking may also be enforced by York Regional Police.
For complete regulations, please see the Parking By-law (PDF).
Note that you can pay your ticket by Visa, MasterCard or American Express; please note that Debit and any type of Debit credit card is not accepted.
