Kleinburg Village Improvements continue!

We’re working to improve Kleinburg Village – and construction will resume this spring to bring roadway and streetscaping enhancements, new cycle paths (outside the village core) and more to the area.

Weekly Construction Update 

August 31 to September 4

• Temporary road closure for asphalt paving on Islington Avenue between Major Mackenzie Drive and Kleinburg Public School (see notice below under Disruption Alert).
• Temporary road closure for asphalt paving on Islington Avenue from Nashville Road to Hwy 27. (see notice below under Disruption Alert).
• Boulevard paver construction from Stegman's Mill Road to Pennon Road, west side.
• Road, curb & bike path construction from Hwy 27 to Nashville Road, east and west side.
• Road and lay-by curbs and casting from Treelawn Boulevard to Nashville Road.
• Boulevard paver construction from Rushworth Crescent to Stegman's Mill Road, east side.
• Bike path construction from Rushworth Crescent to Stegman's Mill Road, east side.

Disruption Alert

Road and boulevard improvements along Islington Avenue in Kleinburg Village are progressing, with the road anticipated to be fully re-opened by Monday, Sept. 7. The next phase of work includes completing construction on Islington Avenue, between Nashville Road and Bell Court, and paving the road. To safely and efficiently complete the work, temporary lane and road closures are required according to the following schedule:

• Islington Avenue, from Bell Court to Nashville Road: Northbound Lane closure will remain in place until Monday, Sept. 7.
• Islington Avenue, from Major Mackenzie Drive to Kleinburg Public School (10391 Islington Ave.): Paving operations from Monday, Aug. 24 to Friday, Aug. 28, between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m.
• Islington Avenue, from Nashville Road to Highway 27: Paving operations from Monday, Aug. 31 to Friday, Sept. 4, between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m.

Detour signs will be in place to guide traffic in the area. Access to homes and businesses along Islington Avenue will not be impacted.

Temporary Parking During Construction

Alternate temporary parking will be made available just north of 10565 Islington Avenue and south of Treelawn Boulevard, and at the Kleinburg Public School (10391 Islington Ave.) from 4 p.m. to 11 p.m. on weekdays and from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. on weekends when the work begins.
