Protocol Services

The Protocol Services division of the Office of the City Clerk is responsible for civic protocol, including receiving and processing requests for flag raisings and proclamations and advising departments on precedence for speaking order, seating arrangements and public ceremonies.

Please note that City of Vaughan staff have been directed to prepare a report for a future Committee of the Whole meeting that proposes updates to the City’s current policies regarding flag raisings, proclamations and illuminations.

 

As this review is underway, a pause is in place for approving flag-raising, proclamation and illumination requests. All previously approved flag-raising, proclamation and illumination requests are exempted from the requested pause period and will proceed as previously approved.
