Youth Week

Calling all young artists, creators, foodies, entrepreneurs and sports and fitness enthusiasts! 

 

We’re celebrating YOU(th) in honour of National Youth Week. From Friday, May 1 to Thursday, May 7, the City will host a variety of FREE activities for youth ages 10 to 17 at Vaughan community centres, fitness centres and the Vaughan Studios & Event Space.

Youth Week Pool Party

Soak in some fun at our Youth Week party – in the pool! While you swim, chill out to cool music. It’s not a pool party without some swag... guests will receive a small keepsake to take home. Note: Participants must adhere to the City of Vaughan’s Pool Admission Guidelines. For details, visit vaughan.ca/swim.

Rock 'n Skate

Grab a friend and glide into this last blast of Youth Week. Hit the rink at this supervised, rec skate for youth aged 10-17 years. Helmets are highly recommended for new skaters. Hockey sticks, pucks and nets are not permitted.

Have some ‘spare’ time? Strike up some fun with your friends in our four-lane, five-pin bowling alley. And don’t forget to bring your favourite music playlist to blast on the surround sound speaker system.

Student Fitness Memberships + FREE Fitness Days

From May 1 to August 31 students ages 13-25 can save 30% on a 1-month or 3-month Student Fitness Membership. 
Students: Find your strong this summer with a (discounted!) Vaughan Fitness membership.

1-month membership $35.75 (plus HST) 
3-month membership $106.97 (plus HST) 

Members have limitless access to six fitness centres and amenities, including squash courts, saunas and indoor tracks, as well as all fitness classes. Plus, FREE access to recreational swimming, skating and shinny hockey (seasonal), sports and game rooms at any Vaughan community centre.

To purchase a student fitness membership, complete a Vaughan Fitness Student Membership Application and bring the form to your local community centre to process the membership. Valid student I.D. required as well as proof of full-time student status.

Score big during Youth Week (prizes and giveaways)

To turn up the excitement during Youth Week, three major events will feature epic prize draws: the Rock & Bowl, the Pool Party and the Rock & Skate. Attendees will have the chance to win Apple AirPods, a JBL Bluetooth speaker, and a variety of gift cards (Amazon, Tim Hortons, McDonald’s and Sport Chek) – plus water bottles from YETI and Stanley. Thanks to generous community support, the City has also secured more than $400 worth of pizza from Pizza Nova to keep players fueled at every 3-on-3 basketball tournament across the city.
