Huntington Road Widening
Huntington Road is being widened between Langstaff Road and Rutherford Road
The City of Vaughan continues to enhance its transportation network to accommodate population and employment growth. To reduce travel time, Huntington Road is being widened and urbanized, between Langstaff Road and Rutherford Road.
Once complete, Huntington Road will feature:
- a four-lane urban road (two lanes in each direction).
- a new structural culvert crossing West Rainbow Creek.
- Aa new underground storm sewer system.
- a new signalized intersection at Huntington Road and Trade Valley Drive/John Lawrie Street.
- in-boulevard multi-use pathways and sidewalks for cyclists and pedestrians.
- new roadway streetlighting.
- intersection improvements at Huntington Road and Rutherford Road.
About the project
The Huntington Road Widening project is a strategic, growth-related transportation infrastructure project that aligns with broader improvements in the City’s planned street network, as identified in the Transportation Master Plan, 2012 and the Vaughan Transportation Plan, 2023. An Environmental Assessment (EA) study was completed for this project in 2017.
