Fire Station 7-1
Enhancing Fire Station 7-1 to serve you better
The City of Vaughan is committed to keeping residents safe – and that includes making sure our fire stations are up to date and ready for emergency responders to jump into action.
Originally built in 1985, the station was identified as needing a full-scale renewal to modernize, improve operational efficiency and support sustainability goals.
Improvements underway
Work includes replacing the roof, HVAC system, upgrading and/or replacing doors and windows, upgrading the controls system, reconfiguring the interior of the building, installing a backup generator, upgrading lighting, utilities services, adding a new duct bank, new building signage and improvements to exterior walls. These upgrades will be completed by the end of 2025 and will help improve response times locally and city-wide while ensuring the facility meets the needs of Vaughan’s growing population.
The planned improvements will reduce electricity demand, natural gas use and water consumption while increasing the station’s operational efficiency and expanding the facility’s lifespan. This project reflects the City’s commitment to reducing its carbon footprint and ensuring reliable, high-quality emergency services infrastructure for the residents of Thornhill.
The enhanced Fire Station 7-1 will continue to support VFRS’ emergency response capabilities in the surrounding community, including providing backup support for neighbouring Fire Station 7-8.
This Project received $1.1 Million Dollars in funding through the Investing in Canada Infrastructure Program.
