Kirby Road reopens ahead of schedule!
Delivering infrastructure improvements for residents
A major infrastructure milestone has been reached early, with Kirby Road between Highway 27 and Kipling Avenue, in the Kleinburg-Nashville community, now reopened ahead of schedule, restoring a key connection for residents and road users sooner than expected.
About the project
Work began in early fall to repair the eroded slope along this section of road. The project included extensive slope stabilization, a culvert replacement and full road reconstruction. These improvements strengthen long-term road safety, enhance drainage and protect the roadway from future erosion – ensuring this vital corridor remains reliable for years to come.
Delivering upgrades that support safe, resilient infrastructure is a top City priority. Thanks to efficient planning and a focused project team, this major work wrapped up earlier than anticipated, reducing disruption for the community and keeping Vaughan moving.
Why was this section of Kirby Road improved?
The slope along Kirby Road required stabilization to prevent erosion and maintain safe road conditions. The existing culvert also required a replacement to ensure effective drainage and prevent road damage.
