Pre-Concert Fun:

Exciting addition this year! We're bringing extra pre-concert fun your way, under the sun! Before the concert starts, join us for a range of engaging activities like nature play and scavenger hunts. These will be offered in the overflow parking lots designated by our sustainability team. Here, you can not only enjoy nature but also gather information about outdoor activities and sustainable transportation. Free parking is available at the locations listed below, from where you can take a short walk to the concert site. Please note that the parking lot closes at 10 pm, and all gates will be locked at that time.

 

Location: Hodan Nalayeh Secondary School Parking Lot, 1401 Clark Ave W, Thornhill, ON L4J 7R4

 

Activities: After parking, take a leisurely walk from the parking lot to the concert site. Along the way, you'll have the opportunity to explore nature and search for items listed on your scavenger hunt sheet.

Before the concert starts, come and participate in a variety of engaging activities such as nature play and a self-guided scavenger hunt. Here, you can gather information about and participate in outdoor nature play activities. Don't forget to visit our activity booth at the address below.

Before the concert starts, join us on a delightful StoryWalk that provides a reading experience while enjoying a stroll along the Vaughan Park. Families will encounter pages of a book along the path and by the end of their walk, they'll have read the entire story. StoryWalks are both fun and educational, offering families a unique way to experience the library.

Enjoy listening to stories? Before the concert begins, come along for a delightful StoryWalk that blends reading with a leisurely stroll through a Vaughan trail. Families will discover pages of a book dispersed along the path, and by the journey's end, they'll have enjoyed the complete story. StoryWalks provide an enjoyable and educational experience, offering families a distinct way to engage with literature and nature simultaneously. 

 

StoryWalk Route: Begin at Lorna Jackson Public School, 589 Napa Valley Ave., Vaughan ON L4H 1R1, and follow Napa Valley Drive to Sonoma Heights Community Park. The route map is now available here.

 

Featured Book: "The Darkest Dark" by Chris Hadfield and Kate Fillions. This book is made available by the TD Summer Reading Club. Scan the QR code on the story panel to listen to the story.

Businesses, not-for-profits and food vendors - the deadline to apply to participate was May 22, 2024. Email us at vaughancelebrates@vaughan.ca to see if there are any opportunities to join for some of the summer events.

 

Calling all businesses, not-for-profits and food vendors! Apply today for the opportunity to participate in Vaughan Celebrates Concerts in the Park 2024. Anticipated attendance at these popular concert events is approximately 1,500 per event date. New this year! Sales are permitted at Concerts in the Park.

Participants - what is needed before the deadline of Wednesday, May 22, 2024?

  1. Participant Agreement Form: Concerts in the Park
  2. Payment
    1. $550 + HST for food vendors and businesses and $250 + HST for not-for-profit organizations (pricing is per event or concert date)
      1. This year only – discounted rate of $400 + HST for food vendors at Concerts in the Park
    2. Pay online with credit card OR by cheque (see details on agreement form)
  3. A Certificate of Insurance naming the Corporation of the City of Vaughan as an additional insured – use the City’s template 
    1. If you are unable to get a Certificate of Insurance, email vaughancelebrates@vaughan.ca to find out how to purchase one-day event insurance.
    2. For Concerts in the Park launch concert at Transit Square, also include Penguin-Calloway (Vaughan) Inc., and SmartCentres Management Services Inc.

Food vendors also need to provide:

  1. The York Region Vendor Application Form will be sent directly to York Region Health Department and provided to Events Staff.
    1. Form is found under “Vendors”: https://www.york.ca/health/food-safety/special-events-farmers-markets-and-wild-game-dinners
  2. Any applicable licences (restaurant licence, refreshment vehicle licence, etc.).

 

 

What to expect as a participant (booths, food vendors)?

 

  • 10'x10' spot unless you have a food truck or purchase additional spaces
  • 1 table and 2 chairs will be provided and more can be rented for a small fee
  • Typically situated on grass
  • Many booth participants and food vendors bring a 10'x10' tent with tent weights (staking is not permitted); no tent, pavilion, etc. is provided
  • Electrical access and Wi-Fi are not available
