Gaetano Iourio Vaughan Civic Hero Award
Vaughan Council presented the Ward 1 Civic Hero Award to Gaetano Iourio in 2006 for continually being involved to ensure the safety, health and wellness of his fellow residents.

In addition to being a Park Ambassador, Mr. Iourio has supported the needs of seniors in Vaughan, met regularly with Members of Council, and promoted environmental stewardship.
Mr. Iourio was also recognized as being one Vaughan's most distinguished citizens and for participating in events that assisted not only the residents of Ward 1, but citizens across the entire municipality.
