Supervised, recreational skating and shinny hockey is available at Al Palladini, Maple and Rosemount community centres and Woodbridge Pool and Memorial Arena from October to March. Garnet A. Williams Community Centre remains closed until 2023 for renovations. Click here for arena locations.

Indoor Recreational Skating (Supervised & Unsupervised)

  • Children under 10 years of age must be accompanied by an adult.
  • Helmets are highly recommended for new skaters and children under 8 years of age.
  • Hockey sticks, pucks and nets are not permitted.

Indoor Recreational Shinny Hockey (Supervised & Unsupervised)

  • Helmets are mandatory, and full equipment, including elbow pads and shin guards are highly recommended.
  • Face guards are mandatory for youth and children in the parent & child shinny hockey program.
  • Note: Ice pad may be split between practice and game play at the discretion of the shinny hockey attendant.
  • Parent & Child: Participation restricted to one adult (18 years+) and 2 children (6-12 years). Parent or guardian must be on the ice. There is a fee of $6 for each additional child.
  • Goalies are free (maximum of 3). Maximum of 24 shinny hockey players, excluding goalies.

All fees listed apply to Vaughan residents only. A non-resident surcharge of 10% may be applicable. HST included in single visit fees, where applicable. HST will be charged at the point of sale for multiple visit passes. Fees are for visits within the set time frame and are subject to change. No refunds or credits on 10 visit passes. Skate multi-pass visits are accepted at any City of Vaughan arena.
