Street Lighting
The City of Vaughan maintains more than 28,000 streetlights in the community. City staff regularly patrol streets to identify any streetlight outages and repairs.
Repairs usually take two to six weeks and can range from a light bulb replacement to repairing underground infrastructure (buried wires), which typically require further investigation.
Streetlights on unassumed streets (generally in subdivisions under construction) are maintained by the developer. Please provide as much information as possible and the City will contact the developer to arrange for repairs.
To report an issue with a streetlight, please contact Service Vaughan at service@vaughan.ca or 905-832-2281. You may also make a request online:
City-owned streetlights may be relocated as requested or to facilitate construction projects, including new developments or driveway widening. You may request to relocate a streetlight within the City right-of-way. A detailed engineering review will be completed as part of the request to determine eligibility.
