Sanitary Back-Water Valve
The sanitary back-water valve is designed to protect basements from flooding caused by flooded sewers during severe weather events. Homes with a back-water valve installed can significantly reduce the risk of basement flooding and prevent damage to the home.
The City of Vaughan introduced the Back-water Valve Subsidy Installation
program to assist owners with the cost of installing an approved back-water valve. The City will cover up to a maximum of $750 including eligible labour, materials, permit fees and taxes. Keep in mind that the back-water valve must be installed by a certified plumber. All subsidies are subject to available funding and provided on a first-come-first-served basis.
