Colossus Drive extension, across Highway 400

The City of Vaughan is undertaking a Municipal Class Environmental Assessment study to extend Colossus Drive across Highway 400. This extension would link Colossus Drive to Interchange Way, between Highway 7 and Highway 407.

This project is one of the key transportation initiatives listed in the Vaughan Council-approved Nine Point Action Plan to Fight Traffic Gridlock.

The new road would create an important crossing over Highway 400, making it easier to travel between the Vaughan Metropolitan Centre and the Weston Road and Highway 7 area.

As part of the study, the City will review different route options for the road and examine how each could impact traffic, the environment, the community and more.

Study area

The study area includes the land on both sides of Highway 400, between Highway 7 and Highway 407. It includes Colossus Drive to the west and Interchange Way to the east, as well as adjacent properties and road connections, as shown in the map below. The study area has been defined to allow consideration of planning and design alternatives, traffic operations and integration with surrounding land uses and planned developments.
