Recreation programs
Programming begins on Monday, June 30 at all community centres and the Vaughan Studios & Event Space, including a number of different outdoor locations.
Here are some program highlights!
- Family (parent and child): toddler crafting, toddler playtime, outdoor mindfulness, dance, musical jam sessions, science and technology
- Preschool: visual arts, outdoor mindfulness, taekwondo, dance, STEM, little naturalists, basketball and Vaughan Playschool summer programs (Italian, reading and writing, and science)
- Children: drawing, cooking and baking, taekwondo, dance, guitar, piano, game design, robotics, AI, STEM, archery, basketball, pickleball, tennis, soccer and volleyball
- Youth: Taekwondo, guitar, computer programming and basketball
- Adult: painting, Zumba, tai chi, HIIT, weight and muscle training, Pilates, yoga, Latin dancing, line dancing, guitar, archery and racquet sports (badminton, pickleball and tennis)
- Older Adult: Zumba Gold, ChairFIT, SeniorFIT, tai chi, muscle conditioning, yoga, chair yoga and pickleball
- Inclusion: a day program for adults with disabilities, featuring age-appropriate activities such as bocce, bowling, cooking, social games, swimming and exercising in one of our fitness centres
- Special events and workshops: paint your own pottery

Swim lessons and aquatic leadership courses
Don’t forget – registration for summer swim lessons and aquatic leadership courses opens at 7 a.m. on Tuesday, May 27, and the session starts on Monday, June 30 at all Vaughan community centre pools.
Learn-to-swim programming starts at four months old for parents with tots and runs up to levels specifically designed for adult non-swimmers. Training and certification in aquatic leadership courses for ages 13 years and older is aimed at preparing participants for employment as a swim instructor or lifeguard.
