Waste collection is delayed – keep your materials curbside
The snow may have stopped but the cleanup is still ongoing! The City of Vaughan’s waste collectors are working hard to pick up garbage as quickly as possible, however, there may be delays due to the weather.
Please leave your materials curbside until they are picked up – possibly later this evening or into Saturday. Thank you for your patience as we make our way to every home.
And remember, crews cannot dig out bins that are buried and trucks will not return for bins that were not accessible at collection time.
Here are some tips to ensure your winter waste collection runs as smoothly as possible:
- Ensure waste bins and bags are not buried in snow.
- Clear a space in the snow at the curb for your waste bins and bags.
- Place your waste approximately one metre from the curb on the right-hand side of the driveway (when facing the home), where possible.
- Do not place items on top of or behind a snowbank.
- Keep waste bins and bags off the road.
- Ensure waste is placed at the curb no later than 7 a.m. on the day of your scheduled collection.
- When snow is in the forecast for overnight, wait until the morning to place your waste curbside.
