Start your business with Vaughan’s Starter Company Plus program

Have you been thinking about starting a new business? Or are you looking for ways to expand your existing venture in Vaughan? If so, apply for the City of Vaughan’s Starter Company Plus program by Monday, July 28!
Through this program, the City offers tailored training for various business types – including brick-and-mortar, food and beverage, new startup and home-based, and technology ventures – to help develop a business plan, marketing strategy, budget and financial forecast. The Starter Company Plus program includes one-on-one consultations with one of the City’s business advisors, who will support the development of your new business plan, and the opportunity to apply for up to $5,000 in provincial grant funding to execute it.
Qualifying businesses will also be enrolled in training sessions offered through the Business Planning Launchpad Series.
Application intake is ongoing for those interested in grant funding.
Follow these steps if this is your first time applying for the program:
Complete an eligibility survey at vaughanbusiness.ca/Starter-Company-Plus.
Upon qualifying, Vaughan Business and Entrepreneurship Centre staff will connect with you to discuss a business training plan.
Submit your completed business plan and financial budget by Monday, July 28.
Interested individuals are invited to attend an upcoming virtual program information session to learn more about this opportunity:

As part of the 2024 provincial budget, Ontario invested an additional $6.8 million over the next two years to enhance the Starter Company Plus program, providing additional support for Ontario entrepreneurs. This will allow more eligible entrepreneurs to receive a Starter Company Plus Grant of $5,000 and provide grants to an additional 500 entrepreneurs across Ontario over two years.
