All requests must be applied for and paid through the Online Permitting Portal.

Request for permit application plans (drawings)

The City of Vaughan maintains records of building permit plans; however, it is not guaranteed that all records are available. Archived plans are located at an offsite facility. A Request for Plans process may take up to a few weeks to complete. A request must be made through the Building Standards department Online Permitting Portal by owners (proof of ownership required) or authorized agents (letter of authorization from the owner required) of the property. This documentation must be submitted with a non-refundable fee. Once drawings are retrieved, a Client Services Specialist will contact the requestor to discuss their copying needs and additional fees that will be required through the Online Permitting Portal.

 

Request for property information

Additional property information such as past building permit inspection notes, past building permit application forms, orders to comply, etc. can be requested through the Building Standards department Online Permitting Portal by owners or authorized agents of the property; a non-refundable fee will be charged.  Once drawings are retrieved, a Client Services Specialist will contact the requestor to discuss their copying needs and additional fees that will be required through the Online Permitting Portal.

 

Request for property surveys

A property survey is a document that outlines the property boundaries and the size of a lot. To request a search of the City’s records for a property survey, the request must be made through the Building Standards Online Permitting Portal by the owner (proof of ownership required) or authorized agents (letter of authorization from the owner required) of the property.  It is not guaranteed that the survey for the property will be in City records, a minimum non-refundable fee of $56.50 is required for this service. A Client Services Specialist will contact the requestor to discuss if the survey is found or not. If the survey is found, the remaining fee will be charged through the Online Permitting Portal.

 

Agents must submit the Authorization - Request for Information Form with all requests.
