If so, apply to join the City of Vaughan’s Transportation Youth Ambassador Program and help us plan for the future of transportation in our city!
Wondering how to get involved? Here are your questions answered:
What is the Transportation Youth Ambassador Program?
The Transportation Youth Ambassador Program is an outreach initiative led by Vaughan’s youth, for Vaughan’s youth. It provides participants with the opportunity to speak with their peers about their transportation challenges and work together to find solutions. By participating in the program, students will gain real-life work experience and develop important skills such as leadership, time management, teamwork and critical thinking.
This program has led to a greater representation of youth voices in municipal transportation decision-making and has helped nurture young leaders in the community – like you! Check out what previous ambassadors have said about the program in this testimonial video.
What will I get out of this program?
Participants will create and deliver several engagement activities, including:
attending and supporting outreach at City events.
facilitating surveys and promotional tactics.
hosting initiatives and focus group discussions in elementary and high schools.
mentoring peers and the new youth ambassadors joining the program.
sharing input on City decisions.
and more!
Upon completion, you will receive a certificate, volunteer hours required for graduation (if applicable) and experience for your resume.
