What is the Transportation Youth Ambassador Program?
Led by Vaughan’s youth, for Vaughan’s youth, the Transportation Youth Ambassador Program is an outreach initiative. It provides participants with the opportunity to connect with peers about transportation challenges in Vaughan and work together to find solutions.
Why should I apply?
As part of the program, you will:
earn volunteer hours required for graduation.
gain real-life work experience for your resume.
attend and support outreach at City of Vaughan events.
collaborate with your peers to find solutions that benefit you.
develop important skills such as leadership, time management, teamwork and critical thinking.
facilitate surveys and promotional tactics.
host initiatives and focus group discussions in elementary and high schools.
share input on City decisions.
receive a certificate of completion.

How do I apply?
Email TYAP@vaughan.ca with:
a one-page cover letter expressing why you would be a good candidate.
proof of enrollment at a Vaughan secondary school.
a letter of reference.
The cohort runs from February to June 2026, culminating in a special graduation ceremony.
