Join Vaughan in ‘Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree’ on Dec. 6
The City of Vaughan is ready to sparkle and shine! Join the community at Vaughan City Hall (2141 Major Mackenzie Dr.) on Saturday, Dec. 6 at 7 p.m. for the City’s annual Christmas Tree Lighting ceremony.
This free, family-friendly celebration will feature greetings from Mayor Steven Del Duca, photos with Santa Claus, festive music and entertainment, hot chocolate, coffee, fun and interactive activities, and the tree lighting countdown.
This annual event brings more than just holiday cheer to Vaughan families. It is also a reminder of the true meaning behind the season – to give back. The City is accepting donations for its 16th annual Toy Drive in support of the CP24 CHUM Christmas Wish until Friday, Dec. 12.
Event attendees are invited to bring a new unwrapped toy for children aged newborn to 18 years old to help ensure everyone has a special holiday this year. All donations will be directed to the CP24 CHUM Christmas Wish, which supplies registered charitable organizations, social service agencies, churches and community centres throughout the Greater Toronto Area with new, unwrapped toys and financial donations.

QUOTE
“The Christmas season offers many residents a chance to reconnect with their faith, spend time with loved ones and spread kindness and joy. Every year, I look forward to coming together as a community for our Christmas Tree Lighting ceremony. It is a beloved tradition that gives us an opportunity to light up a beautiful 45-foot-tall tree and enjoy festive cheer with free hot chocolate and family-friendly crafts and activities – and even a special visit from Santa Claus! I hope to see you and your family on Saturday, Dec. 6 as we celebrate the holiday season together.”
