Celebrate the Group of Seven in Thornhill with art, history and family activities
Drop by a free event on Sept. 21at the J.E.H. MacDonald House
Join us to celebrate the famed Group of Seven on Sunday, Sept. 21 at the J.E.H. MacDonald House (121 Centre St.) from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. with free family-friendly activities everyone will enjoy.
This event will include the unveiling of a new interpretive easel, a guided walking tour to the former homes of five Group of Seven artists, an art show and more. A highlight will be the unveiling of a new easel at the house, which will anchor Thornhill as a key stop along the Group of Seven Touring Route. Developed by the Thornhill Historical Society, and in partnership with the City and the Toronto and Region Conservation Authority (TRCA), the easel features historical context and bilingual storytelling.
This event is being held in collaboration with the TRCA, the Thornhill Historical Society, and as part of the Thornhill Sustainable Neighbourhood Action Program.
The interpretive easel will mimic the installations along the Moments of Algoma Group of Seven Driving Tour and will be the second location in Vaughan, alongside the McMichael Canadian Art Collection.
