Celebrate culture, history and community at the City’s Black History Month event!

The City of Vaughan invites you to celebrate Black History Month with Mayor Steven Del Duca and Members of Council on Sunday, Feb. 1 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at Vaughan City Hall. 

 

Join us for official remarks, Afro-Caribbean and urban dances, drum performances, complimentary refreshments and more. The event will also feature Black-owned and Black-led businesses, organizations and creatives, providing a platform to showcase their work and engage with others. 

 

Interested vendors are invited to fill out the Participant Agreement Form by Thursday, Jan. 22. Space is limited and spots will be confirmed on a first-come, first-served basis. Questions can be directed to cultureevents@vaughan.ca.

Black Canadians and communities have been vital in shaping Canada’s heritage, culture and identity. Every year, the City proclaims February as Black History Month, a celebration that brings communities together to pay tribute to the remarkable Black Canadians who have made a positive and enduring impact in the community, and highlights the richness of Black cultures and histories.
