Stay out of the cold and have fun online!
Craft, bake and dance away the winter blues with the City of Vaughan’s upcoming virtual recreation programs. To help stop the spread of COVID-19, all in-person winter recreation programs are cancelled. However, Recreation Services will livestream popular recreation programs for all ages, with topics ranging from creative and culinary arts, and health and wellness, to sports, science and technology, and professional development. Pre-registration is required and starts Tuesday, Dec. 1 at vaughan.ca/RecOnline.

The City of Vaughan’s Volunteer Recognition Awards is an annual event that honours the outstanding contributions of local volunteers. This year, due to COVID-19, the ceremony will be held virtually tonight at 7 p.m. at vaughan.ca/VolunteerAwards.

Expanding online services
In response to the global COVID-19 pandemic, the City of Vaughan continues to modify and transition many services and programs online to support citizens and businesses. The City’s online reporting tool – Service Vaughan – is a digital platform that enables individuals to easily submit a service request, report on non-emergency City services and track their submission 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The tool is available at vaughan.ca/ServiceVaughan.

Reminder: Special Committee of the Whole called for Nov. 25
A Special Committee of the Whole meeting is taking place on Wednesday, Nov. 25 at 1 p.m. to address issues of racism and further advance the City of Vaughan’s diversity, inclusion and anti-racism efforts. Citizens are encouraged to participate and share their thoughts virtually through various methods, including phone, teleconference and email. A live broadcast of the meeting will be available at vaughan.ca/LiveCouncil.
