Five outstanding individuals to be invested into the Order of Vaughan

Ceremony at City Hall on Nov. 8

The Order of Vaughan is the highest civic honour the City of Vaughan may bestow on individuals who exemplify extraordinary citizenship and better the community. Mayor Steven Del Duca will preside over the City’s 2023 Order of Vaughan investiture ceremony at Vaughan City Hall (2141 Major Mackenzie Dr.) on Wednesday, Nov. 8.

Doctors McLean District Park

Through public engagement, the City has identified residents’ priorities and vision for this cherished park’s redevelopment, which will include a new picnic shelter with seating, a new splashpad, an adventure playground, trails, a pedestrian bridge over the Humber River, a lookout with seating, interpretive signage and naturalization plantings. All new elements improve accessibility to, and within the park, including accessible rubber safety surfacing, playground elements, the splashpad, seating and trails.

Some park amenities are closing for the season

As fall’s crisp breeze rustles through the leaves, we are preparing to close our park amenities for the season. But that doesn’t mean the outdoor fun is coming to an end! There’s plenty of time to embrace the beauty of our community and continue enjoying Vaughan’s great outdoors.

The following amenities will remain open until the end of November 2023, weather permitting:

  • Basketball courts

Toy Drive

Mayor Steven Del Duca and Members of Council invite local schools, residents and businesses to take part in the drive by dropping off a new, unwrapped toy at any one of the designated locations across the City. The toys, for children aged newborn to 18 years-of-age will be accepted at Vaughan community centres, libraries and fire halls until December 13, 2024. Toys also can be dropped off at Vaughan City Hall until December 13, 2024.
