An Environment Canada heat warning is in effect for Vaughan – and extreme temperatures can be dangerous for everyone, especially outdoor workers, older adults, some people living with disabilities and children, particularly infants.

The City of Vaughan’s 29th annual Vaughan Celebrates Concerts in the Park series presented by TD and event sponsor Tim Hortons is well underway! This free event takes place throughout the summer.
When it rains, keep an eye on the drains! That is, the stormwater drains located in the road – also known as catch basins. Catch basins ensure rainwater makes its way back into ponds, streams and lakes. But if a catch basin is blocked or covered by leaves or other debris, rainwater can pool and cause street flooding.
You can help ensure this doesn’t happen!
The resident living closest to a catch basin is encouraged to help clear it, if it’s safe to do so – especially before or during heavy rainfall.
The City of Vaughan has closed the splashpad at Melville Park (201 Melville Ave.) until further notice for necessary repairs.
But don’t worry! There are still 19 other locations you can cool off at this long weekend. All locations are open daily from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., subject to weather and surface conditions.
