Have you heard? Starting on Jan. 1, 2026, the City of Vaughan will no longer be responsible for collecting your recycling. 

Residential blue box programs across the province are moving to a new collection system operated by  Circular Materials Ontario, a not-for-profit organization appointed by the Province. This means the City will no longer be responsible for the collection, sorting and recycling of blue box materials.  

The Community Tree Planting Program provides community members with an opportunity to do their part to improve the environment, give back to their local community, get active, socialize and build employee engagement – outside and in-person!

Longtime City of Vaughan leader Vince Musacchio is taking over as head of the new Planning and Infrastructure Development portfolio, which will create a one-stop shop for planning, growth and infrastructure delivery in this community.
