New multi-use artificial turf field opens at Emily Carr Secondary School
Vaughan’s sports community scores again! A brand-new multi-use artificial turf field is now open at Emily Carr Secondary School (4901 Rutherford Rd.), giving athletes a modern, high-quality space to play, train and compete.
On May 29, Mayor Steven Del Duca, Members of Council and members of the York Region District School Board gathered to celebrate the grand opening of the new field, marking an exciting milestone for local sports and recreation.
Now ready for action, the state-of-the-art facility offers extended playing opportunities for a wide range of sports, including soccer, football, rugby, field hockey, and track and field – making it a true hub for athletes of all levels.
The upgraded space features impressive amenities such as bright new field lighting, a synthetic running track, a digital scoreboard and spectator bleachers, creating an enhanced experience for both players and fans alike.
