The Thornhill Outdoor Pool opens June 13

Join us for a community kickoff event 

Summer starts early at the Thornhill Outdoor Pool as the City of Vaughan invites residents to dive into the 2026 season beginning Saturday, June 13.

To mark opening day, residents are invited to a community kickoff event featuring a recreational swim with music, water games and complimentary freezies, while supplies last. A personal flotation device (PFD) sizing clinic will also be available for swimmers of all ages. PFDs will be available for purchase on-site, with youth, child and infant sizes priced at $64.99 and adult sizes at $59.99.

Located at 28 Centre St. (parking lot located at 7822 Old Yonge St.), the fully accessible facility offers a 30-metre, five-lane swimming pool and an accessible shallow-water wading pool with beach entry, along with a family change room, shaded seating areas, benches and free parking.

Weekend-only schedule

The outdoor pool opens Saturday, June 13 and will operate on a weekend-only schedule until Sunday, June 28, with modified hours. Weekend programming between Saturday, June 13 and Sunday, June 28 includes aquafitness from 10 a.m. to 10:45 a.m., length swim from 11 a.m. to noon and recreational swims offered in three afternoon blocks.

Full summer schedule

Beginning Monday, June 29, the pool operates daily until Monday, Sept. 7. Starting in July, hours are extended by one hour compared to previous seasons, with the pool open daily from 7:30 a.m. to 8:15 p.m. 

Daily programming includes length swim, aquafitness, parent and tot swims and recreational swims throughout the day and evening. 

New this season: 

• an additional weekday length swim (Monday to Friday, 11:45 a.m. to 12:45 p.m.) 
• an additional weekend aquafitness class (Saturday and Sunday, 8:45 a.m. to 9:30 a.m.)
• an additional recreational swim (Saturday and Sunday, 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.).

Holiday schedule

The facility operates on modified holiday hours, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., on Wednesday, July 1 (Canada Day), Monday, Aug. 3 (Civic Holiday) and Monday, Sept. 7 (Labour Day).

The online registration system is available 24-7 and features enhanced search filters, allowing you to sort by level, location, day and time.
