Book a civil marriage ceremony
As flowers bloom and the air turns warm with the promise of a new season, spring sets the perfect stage for saying “I do.” The City of Vaughan offers civil marriage ceremonies at Vaughan City Hall, providing couples with a welcoming setting to exchange vows and begin their next chapter surrounded by family and friends.
And booking your ceremony is easy! Here’s how to get started:
- Obtain a marriage licence. Couples must have a valid marriage licence issued in the Province of Ontario before their ceremony date.
- Book a ceremony. Civil marriage ceremonies must be booked online in advance and are hosted in the Garden Room at Vaughan City Hall (2141 Major Mackenzie Dr.). Free parking is available for all guests.
- Attend a consultation. Once a ceremony is booked, an officiant will contact you to schedule a mandatory pre-ceremony consultation. Ceremony details will be confirmed, and the applicable fee must be paid prior to the ceremony date.

There are three options of vows to choose from, or you have the option to include custom vows, which can be inserted between the mandatory declarations required under the Ontario Marriage Act.
