68 deserving individuals receive prestigious award for their contributions

The City of Vaughan’s annual Volunteer Recognition Awards shine a spotlight on the outstanding contributions of local volunteers, including 68 individuals who made a significant difference in the community in 2025.

Mayor Steven Del Duca and Members of Council recognized these dedicated individuals during the 2026 awards ceremony held this evening at Vaughan City Hall (2141 Major Mackenzie Dr.). This event coincides with National Volunteer Week, which runs from April 19 to April 25, and is proclaimed annually by the City.

Earlier this year, non-profit organizations and community groups in Vaughan were encouraged to nominate one outstanding volunteer from 2025 whose passion and actions made a positive impact on the community. Each recipient received a certificate and lapel pin during this evening’s ceremony.

The awards are presented to volunteers aged 13 years and older whose dedication to assisting others has been exceptional. The 2025 recipients were recognized for their generous community service, donating their time and energy to important causes, and enhancing the quality of life in Vaughan and beyond.
