Vaughan celebrates International Women's Day
International Women’s Day has grown into a global day of recognition, acknowledgement and celebration of women that reflects upon their achievements and struggles. To commemorate this important occasion and honour the enduring contributions of women past, present and future, today, the City of Vaughan is hosting its annual International Women’s Day event, virtually. Citizens are encouraged to tune in to vaughan.ca/events at 11 a.m. to watch.

Vaughan declares a Significant Weather Event
The City of Vaughan has declared a Significant Weather Event starting Monday, March 7, based on a Freezing Rain Warning issued by Environment Canada. Conditions are favourable for freezing rain mixed with ice pellets today. Ice accumulation of two to four millimetres is also possible this morning, with a transition to snow around midday. The City is encouraging drivers to be cautious and adjust their driving according to changing weather conditions. Take all necessary precautions, including avoiding unnecessary travel as surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become icy and slippery.
