Lighting the way to a more sustainable future
As part of the City of Vaughan’s commitment to protecting the environment and fostering a sustainable community, approximately 22,000 new streetlights have been installed through the city-wide LED Streetlight Retrofit Program. By changing from high-pressure sodium (HPS) to light-emitting diode (LED) technology, the City is taking steps towards reducing energy use, saving operational costs and advancing the Environmental Stewardship and Operational Performance priorities, as outlined in the 2018-2022 Term of Council Service Excellence Strategic Plan.

Reviewing Vaughan's five wards
The City of Vaughan is undertaking a comprehensive review of the city’s five ward boundaries. The objective of the Ward Boundary Review is to assess whether Vaughan’s present wards are continuing to provide effective, equitable and democratic representation. Public input is a vital part of this process. There are a number of ways to get involved and join the conversation – including an online survey. Participate until Friday, Jan. 22, 2021 to help define priorities for the City as the review begins. Learn more at vaughan.ca/WardBoundary.

Spreading holiday cheer, one toy at a time
It’s not too late to make a difference this holiday season! The City of Vaughan’s 11th annual Toy Drive continues in support of the CP24 CHUM Christmas Wish. Those who still wish to participate can donate toys online or in-person by 5 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 11.
