Ditches are found at the side of rural and main roads and are used to drain water away from the road, carry collected water to a drain/pond and assist in snow-clearing operations by providing snow storage below the elevation of a road.

Often the best way to prevent issues with wildlife is to make small changes on your property and in your actions. For example, removing food sources, water and shelter will encourage wildlife to go elsewhere.
