Update: the City of Vaughan’s Significant Weather Event
has ended as of Friday, Jan. 20, 2023.
The City declared a Significant Weather Event on Wednesday, Jan. 18 based on a freezing rain warning issued by Environment Canada. This event has ended effective Friday, Jan. 20 at 9:30 a.m.

The City of Vaughan has a sound approach to
public finances – and efforts continue to be recognized. For the 14th
consecutive year, the City is the recipient of the Government Finance Officers
Association (GFOA) Distinguished Budget Presentation Award for Vaughan’s 2022
Budget Book.
This evening, during
the first of three public budget meetings, the City of Vaughan tabled its draft
2023 Budget and 2024 to 2026 Financial Plan. The proposed budget reflects the
continued commitment to keep property tax rates low, respect taxpayers’ money
and deliver quality public services that residents, businesses and visitors
rely on each day.
There’s ‘snow’ denying the winter season can get messy – and accumulated roadside garbage doesn’t help!
