Parking Permits
Vaughan residents can register on the Vaughan Online Parking Permit System portal, and can then purchase:
- visitor permits for their visitors,
- construction permits for themselves during construction projects which block their driveways, and
- on permitted streets, a monthly parking permit for themselves.

Unless otherwise signed or prohibited by the Parking By-law (PDF):
on-street parking is allowed for up to three hours without a permit between 6 a.m. and 6 p.m.
on-street parking is prohibited between 2 a.m. and 6 a.m. unless the vehicle has a valid overnight parking permit for that date, time and location.
The City offers three types of parking permits you can purchase:
Prohibited at all times
Whether or not a vehicle has a valid permit, the following is prohibited at all times:
- parking within three meters of a fire hydrant
- parking within a “No Park” or “No Stop” zone
- parking within nine meters of an intersection
- parking within 0.6 meters of a private roadway
- parking left wheels to the curb
- parking on private property without the consent of the owner or occupant
- on any roadway having an overall width of less than six metres
- parking during snow events if parking would interfere with snow clearing activities
- commercial vehicle parking on a residential driveway unless construction is being prepared for or is underway, unless the vehicle is wholly enclosed within a garage
Accessible parking permits
Valid accessible parking permits allow people to park in accessible spaces, but do not provide exemptions from other parking violations, such as fire routes. Permits must be valid on the date of parking and need to be displayed properly with the front of the permit clearly visible (face-up on the dashboard or attached to a turned-down sun visor).
