Vaughan honours the legacy of Honey and Barry Sherman
Join the City for a park renaming ceremony on Aug. 21
You’re invited to join us as we mark the renaming of Wood Valley Park (2 Marc Santi Blvd.) to the Honey and Barry Memorial Park to honour the enduring legacy of Honey and Barry Sherman.
Join the official renaming ceremony on Thursday, Aug. 21 at 12:15 p.m. with Mayor Steven Del Duca, Members of Council and community organizations. There will be a sign unveiling, official remarks and refreshments while quantities last.
This special event is an opportunity for the community to come together and celebrate the lives and contributions of Honey and Barry Sherman, two individuals who left a lasting impact.
In May 2025, Council passed a Member’s Resolution to rename the park to the Honey and Barry Memorial Park in their memory to serve as a tribute to their generosity and commitment to Vaughan’s growth, ensuring their names remain forever linked with the community.
