Vaughan celebrates Italian Heritage Month
On June 4, the Vaughan community joined Mayor Steven Del Duca and Members of Council to celebrate and honour Italian Heritage Month with a flag-raising event at Vaughan City Hall.
“Vaughan is home to one of the largest Italian-Canadian populations in the country, whose contributions have helped shape the cultural richness and vibrancy of our city,” said Mayor Steven Del Duca. “They’ve enriched Vaughan’s cultural fabric, strengthened our neighbourhoods and contributed to our shared vision of a world‑class city where people are proud to live, work and raise a family. We are deeply appreciative of the Italian immigrants whose hard work, dedication and values helped build Vaughan into the thriving city it is today. I hope everyone will join us for Festa d’Italia on Saturday, June 6 and Sunday, June 7 for a truly special weekend of food, music and traditions that showcase the beauty of Italian heritage.”
