NOW OPEN: Mackenzie Valley Park
Great news for residents and their furry friends – a brand-new primary off-leash dog area is now open!
On June 22, Mayor Steven Del Duca and Members of Council gathered to celebrate the official grand opening of this new community amenity at Mackenzie Valley Park.
Located at 5851 Major Mackenzie Dr. in Ward 2, this fenced-in space offers a vibrant, welcoming destination where dogs of all sizes can exercise, socialize and enjoy off-leash freedom in a secure environment.
Thoughtfully planned with both pets and their owners in mind, the dog park has separate fully fenced areas for large and small dogs to ensure a comfortable experience for all.
Visitors can also enjoy convenient seating areas for relaxation and socializing, along with a shade structure. With these amenities and more, the park creates an inviting gathering place for the community to connect while supporting active, healthy lifestyles for their four-legged companions.
QUOTES
“It’s a pleasure to celebrate the new off-leash dog area at Mackenzie Valley Park – a space that brings people together, supports active living and, of course, makes life a little happier for our four-legged residents. At the City of Vaughan, we are proud to continue investing in projects that enhance residents’ quality of life. For many of us, our dogs are not just pets – they’re family. Spaces like this recognize just how important those relationships are. I want to thank the City’s Planning and Infrastructure Development team for their efforts to bring this beautiful off-leash dog area to life. So, bring your furry friends and enjoy the better-than-ever Mackenzie Valley Park!”
