Did you know pollinators play many important roles, from collecting pollen to supporting the growth of fruits, vegetables and flowers? Join the City of Vaughan for a FREE workshop to discover how pollinators benefit our environment!

Earlier this year, the City conducted a survey for our Vaughan Gardeners program, and you told us the topics you wanted to learn more about – including pollinators! The next workshop, “Planting for Pollinators,” will take place on Tuesday, June 23 from 10:30 a.m. to noon at Gallanough Park (21 Springfield Way)

Delivered in partnership with Local Enhancement and Appreciation of Forests (LEAF), with support from York Region’s Greening Action Partnership Fund, this workshop will cover:

  • what pollinators are

  • what native plants are

  • why they matter and how they interact

  • plants pollinators prefer

  • how to create your own pollinator garden

Participants will watch a live demonstration, plant native plugs and ask questions from the experts. Attendees will also receive native pollinator seed packets to take home. This session is suitable for gardeners of all skill levels.

Space is limited, so register now to claim your spot! This is an outdoor event and will be held rain or shine. Please dress according to weather conditions.
