Have a virtually spook-tacular Halloween
Double, double, toil and trouble! All witches, goblins, vampires and ghouls are invited to enjoy Halloween fun virtually this year. With the Province of Ontario’s modified Stage 2 restrictions for Vaughan and York Region in effect and recent direction to refrain from door-to-door trick-or-treating, online Halloween-themed entertainment is being offered by the City of Vaughan’s Recreation Services team and Vaughan Public Libraries for you to participate in from the safety and comfort of home.

Imagine a Day Without Water
Did you know that as you live, walk and travel through Vaughan, there are more than 1,000 kilometres of watermains, nearly 1,000 kilometres of sanitary sewers and over 800 kilometres of storm sewers moving water below you? Every year, 35-billion litres of fresh clean water is delivered to homes and businesses across the city – that is equivalent to 14,000 Olympic-sized swimming pools!

As the global COVID-19 pandemic persists, the City of Vaughan continues to take a disciplined, responsible and measured approach. The decision to keep several City facilities and amenities closed to the public has been made to safeguard the health and well-being of the entire community. For those that have gradually reopened, the City has adopted Public Health practices mandated by York Region and the Government of Ontario in an effort to prevent further transmission of the virus. These include physical distancing measures, increased sanitization and disinfection, a mandatory mask directive and more.

As the Province of Ontario’s modified Stage 2 restrictions for Vaughan and York Region take effect today, the City of Vaughan is urging residents to do their part to support the local economy by safely shopping at small businesses and local restaurants in the city.
