Part-lot Control Approval Process

Part-lot Control regulates the sale or transfer of part of a lot or block within a registered Plan of Subdivision. A landowner can apply for a Part-lot Control Exemption if they wish to further divide a block or lot within a registered Plan of Subdivision. The Planning Act authorizes municipalities to pass by-laws, through Council, to exempt land from Part-lot Control, allowing the landowner to divide the lot into smaller parcels, make minor boundary adjustments or establish maintenance easements.
