What is Mentors in Motion?

Mentors in Motion is a FREE, unique 12-week intergenerational mentorship program, funded in part by the Government of Canada’s New Horizons for Seniors Program, that brings together youth and young adults living with disabilities and older adults. By sharing lived experiences, practical knowledge and life skills, senior mentors help participants build confidence, independence and meaningful connections.

In engaging weekly sessions led by a City of Vaughan instructor, participants take part in mentorship, interactive learning and hands-on activities designed to build practical skills that support independent living, employment readiness and personal growth. By fostering authentic mentor-mentee relationships, the program encourages participants to learn from one another, build lasting connections and gain the confidence to navigate everyday challenges and future opportunities with greater independence and success.
