Tax Sale

Under the Municipal Act, 2001, if a municipality is unable to collect outstanding property taxes through collection procedures, the municipality can sell the property to recover the amount owing.

 

Tax sales are not typical real estate transactions. The City of Vaughan recommends you seek advice from a lawyer before you consider participating in the tax sale.

 

Properties for sale will be advertised on the City’s website and on the Ontario Gazette.
