MoveSmart Mobility Management Strategy
The City of Vaughan continues to make road safety, active and sustainable travel modes and effective traffic management a top priority.
To date, the City has implemented several initiatives under MoveSmart, including:
Insurance and Risk Management
The Insurance and Risk Management division of the Office of the City Clerk is responsible for three main areas:
- claim administration
- risk financing
- risk control
How to submit a claim
Municipal Act, 2001 S.O. 2001, Section 44, 10 requires that,
A claim must be filed and submitted within 10 days of the incident's occurrence.
To submit a claim, please prepare and submit the claim report form.

Where Do Your Tax Dollars Go?
The property tax bill may come in a City of Vaughan envelope, but less than 30 per cent of property taxes go to the City of Vaughan. Here is a breakdown of how residential property taxes are allocated:
- $0.51 to York Region
- $0.28 to City of Vaughan
- $0.21 to Local School Boards (Province of Ontario for education purposes)

Concord GO Centre Secondary Plan
The Secondary Plan will provide a master plan for a critical intensification area in the City of Vaughan related to the Concord/GO Station, the VIVA Highway 7 Bus Rapid Transit Line and the 407 Highway Transitway.
