Special Event application fees are not refundable.

Business licence and permit applications 

If a person terminates an application prior to issuance, 50% of the application fee is refundable.

Short-term rental licence applications

In the event a licence or renewal is refused, the applicant shall be eligible to a partial refund of the application fee, as follows:

The City of Vaughan’s 2023 Budget process is underway. Along with the budget, the 2024 to 2026 Financial Plan will also be developed. This plan will outline a progressive path to move the city forward, all while continuing to deliver more than 200 daily community programs and services effectively and efficiently. 

Accounting Services

The Accounting division:

  • prepares annual audited Consolidated Financial Statements and Schedules, and annual Provincial Financial Information Returns.
  • processes and issues payments for the City's operating, capital and statutory liabilities.
  • ensures the City's purchases and expenses are accurately recorded in the automated financial systems and that these expenditures are paid on a timely basis.
  • ensures the City's miscellaneous charges are billed, recorded and collected on a timely basis.

 

Engineering Permits

NEW GRADING PERMIT SECURITY REQUIREMENTS 
Effective October 1, 2025, all grading permit applications must include a security deposit, as outlined in the chart below. The required deposit amounts are determined by the type of construction and must be submitted to the Development Engineering Department during the grading permit application process.

With snow in the forecast tomorrow, the City of Vaughan is reminding everyone to keep parked cars off the roads during and after snowfalls to allow City crews to clear streets and sidewalks properly. On-street parking blocks our plows from safely passing around parked cars, and streets and sidewalks may not be plowed as a result.
