O, Vaughan, we have exciting news! The City of Vaughan is thrilled to announce Rêve and Wes Williams will take the stage as this year’s Vaughan Celebrates Canada Day co-headliners!

JUNO award-winning singer-songwriter Rêve will take the stage this Canada Day! Rêve is one of Canada’s most exciting emerging female pop acts, with more than 170-million global streams on breakout hits including “CTRL + ALT + DEL,” “Big Boom,” “Contemporary Love” and “Whitney.”

Also known as Maestro Fresh Wes, this Toronto-born multimedia celebrity is the first hip hop artist to receive a JUNO Award for Best Rap Recording of the Year, have a single on the Billboard chart and be inducted into the Canadian Songwriters Hall of Fame. He is also the first Black Canadian artist to have a single or album reach gold and platinum status in Canada. Known for his 1989 debut single “Let Your Backbone Slide” and his debut album “Symphony In Effect,” Wes has performed on national and international stages. This year, Wes was featured in Canada Post’s Black History Month stamp set, paying tribute to Canada’s hip hop trailblazers.

Join us in celebrating Canada’s 159th birthday at this year’s event, presented by Tim Hortons, taking place on Wednesday, July 1 at North Maple Regional Park (11085 Keele St.) from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. This FREE fun-filled day will feature plenty of live entertainment, activities, food vendors, a business zone, free giveaways (while supplies last) and so much more.
