1. Enjoy your local park

The City’s parks offer a wide variety of outdoor activities for everyone to enjoy, including:

  • baseball fields 

  • basketball courts

  • bocce courts

  • off-leash dog parks

  • outdoor exercise equipment

  • pickleball courts 

  • playgrounds

  • skateboard parks

  • soccer fields 

  • tennis courts

  • recreational trails

  • volleyball courts

  • and more!

2. Swim at the Thornhill Outdoor Pool

The City of Vaughan’s Thornhill Outdoor Pool (26 Old Yonge St.) is open daily until Monday, Sept. 1, and includes designated times for recreational, length, and parent and tot swims as well as aquafitness classes. Pre-registration and pre-payment are available for your convenience one week in advance of all scheduled swims at vaughan.ca/OutdoorPool. Limited spots will be available for walk-ins prior to the start of a recreational activity. For schedules and fees, visit vaughan.ca/swim.

 

3. Take a stroll along a trail or a neighbourhood walk

Lace up your walking shoes and embark on an outdoor adventure on one of the 12 Great Walks of Vaughan. There’s a trail for all ages, abilities and comfort levels. Note, trail access restrictions may be in effect at North Maple Regional and the Peter Rupert Neighbourhood Walk due to construction. Check vaughan.ca/GreatWalks regularly for project updates and more information.

 

In addition to the Great Walks of Vaughan, our city has many other local trails to explore, including the Bartley Smith Greenway, William Granger Greenway (Humber Trail) and Nashville Conservation Reserve Trails that form part of the Vaughan Super Trail. 4. Discover art created by local artists

Looking for something inspiring to add to your summer plans? You can now view beautiful original artwork displayed outside across Vaughan! Fifteen new art designs themed around the ART of HEALING have been installed on traffic signal boxes as part of the City of Vaughan’s ARTonBOXES program! Beat the summer heat at one of our splashpads! The City maintains more than 20 splashpads throughout the community, open daily from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m.
