Let’s get active for Recreation and Parks Month!

Celebrate with us at our launch event on Sunday, June 8 at North Thornhill Community Centre

Are you ready to stretch your legs and take a deep breath of fresh air? June is Recreation and Parks Month – a time to focus on the benefits recreation and parks have on our physical, social and mental health. And there are so many ways you can get involved and be active!

The City of Vaughan is offering a series of activities throughout June, including a kickoff event on Sunday, June 8, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at North Thornhill Community Centre (300 Pleasant Ridge Ave.).

The event will include an official welcome from Mayor Steven Del Duca as well as free activities and giveaways, including a slime station, glitter tattoos and free popcorn. You’ll have the opportunity to get moving with DanceFIT, challenge your skills with pickleball and archery, learn lifesaving tips by participating in infant choking demonstrations and dive into all the action at the Vaughan Lifesaving Club showcase event in the pool from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. There will also be booths onsite highlighting some of the City’s departments and the important work they do.
