Learn how at an education session on May 30 at City Hall

Ready to dig into gardening this season? Join the City of Vaughan for a beginner education session designed to help you confidently start your own garden at home.

Recently, the City conducted a Vaughan Gardeners survey and gardening basics was one of the topics you told us you wanted to learn more about. The first workshop, “Let’s Get Planting – How to Kickstart Your Garden,” will take place on Saturday, May 30 from 10:30 a.m. to noon at the community garden at Vaughan City Hall (2141 Major Mackenzie Dr.)

Delivered in partnership with York Region Food Network, this FREE workshop is designed to walk you through the essentials – from preparing your garden space and choosing the right plants, to understanding soil and seasonal planting.

Participants will watch a live demonstration, have opportunities to ask questions, and receive free seeds and an herb plant to help them get started at home. This session is suitable for gardeners of all skill levels, whether you’re new to gardening or looking for a refresher.

Space is limited, so register now to claim your spot! This event will be held rain or shine. In the event of rain, the workshop will move indoors at Vaughan City Hall.
